Juicy Chemistry Kakadu Plum Matcha Blood Orange Face Mask Review

Since I have a lot of PIH (dark spots left behind after acne breakouts), I am always on the lookout for skincare products that help lighten pigmentation. And hence I got the Juicy Chemistry Kakadu Plum, Matcha & Blood Orange Vitamin C Rich Face Mask.

This is one of the first products in India with Kakadu Plum as a key ingredient. Kakadu plum is nature’s richest source of vitamin C which is known for its antioxidant and skin-brightening properties. Plus the face mask has various other skin brightening herbs like licorice, amla, rose, orange peel, hibiscus etc.

Product Claims:

This face mask is rich in vital vitamins and antioxidants. Kakadu Plum is one of the richest sources of Vitamin C. Matcha and Hibiscus extracts are rich in antioxidants as well that maintains the skin’s overall health. Rhassoul and Bentonite clays are effective at drawing out impurities from the skin, while essential oils of Blood Orange and Grapefruit help reduce impact of sun and free radical damage.

About the product:

The Juicy Chemistry Kakadu Plum Face mask comes in a tiny glass jar with cardboard packaging. The powder is green coloured with a mild citrus scent.

Ingredients:

Matcha Tea Leaf, Licorice Root Extract, Bentonite, Kakadu Plum Fruit Powder, Hibiscus Dried Flower, Rose Flower, Orange Peel Powder, Illite Clay, Amla Fruit Powder, Sunflower Seed Oil, Rose Mary Antioxidant Leaf Extract, Grapefruit Essential Oil, Bergamot Essential Oil, Blood Orange Essential Oil.

Directions to Use:

Scoop out some product and transfer it into a clean, dry bowl. Add a few pumps of our hydrosols to make a paste-like consistency and apply a thin layer on the face & neck in an upward direction. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes till it semi-dries. Rinse it off gently with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel.

My Experience Using Juicy Chemistry Kakadu Plum Matcha Blood Orange Face Mask:

The Juicy chemistry face mask has a little grainy texture, unlike other face masks I have tried so far. So to apply it to your face you need to keep the consistency a bit runny.

I take about ½ tsp of the mask and mix it with some water. Instantly, the colour changes from green to deep maroonish brown due to the presence of various herbs including rose and hibiscus powder. 

Applying the face mask with a brush will probably lead to wastage as the granules tend to stick to bristles. So I find it best to use my finger to apply the mask all over my face.

It won’t spread evenly due to its grainy texture but that is not something you should worry about, just a light layer works well.

The face mask starts drying off within minutes so I recommend keeping a spray bottle filled with water handy. I usually have to spray it 1-2 times to help it stay on for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, I gently scrub it off the face with wet hands and rinse it off.

My skin feels extremely supple and baby soft thanks to the sunflower oil which helps hydrate the skin. There is also an instant brightness which makes the skin look radiant for a few hours.

I have been using it for over 2 months now and haven’t seen a major reduction in dark spots. I will probably have to use it for longer to see some results. But yes, the juicy Chemistry Kakadu Plum Face Mask does make the skin look more even-toned after each use.

You can use it before parties and special occasions to get supple, glowing skin. 

20 grams may seem less but the jar will easily last you 2 months when used twice a week since just a little quantity is required for each use. Yes, the price is definitely on the higher side, but you can definitely pick it up for much less during sales or with affiliate codes.

Overall, I find the face mask to deliver on the promise of hydration and glow. It won’t reduce dark spots on its own since it is used just a couple of times a week. But you can make it part of your skincare routine to give it a boost of antioxidants and get brighter, softer skin.
