A Gentle Deep Clean? I Tried The Becalm Airy Face Wash To Find Out
Last Updated on January 19, 2026
Finding a face wash that actually helps my oily, acne-prone skin without leaving it tight, squeaky, or irritated always feels like an achievement. If you’ve been on that hunt too, you’ll understand the frustration of trying cleanser after cleanser, only to end up with a disrupted barrier or a new round of breakouts.
So when I came across the Becalm Airy Salicylic Acid Face Wash that promises deep cleanse while being gentle enough for daily use and microbiome-friendly too, I was genuinely curious. A salicylic acid wash that claims to calm the skin and control oil? Not an easy feat to achieve.
Winter has already started to dehydrate my skin, which makes it the perfect season to test just how gentle this formula truly is. If it can manage oil, breakouts, and dullness without stripping my barrier this time of year, that’s saying something.
After using it consistently and paying attention to how my skin behaved, shine levels, bumps, sensitivity, all of it, I finally have thoughts. Here’s my honest, lived-in review of whether Becalm’s airy gel cleanser is the answer oily and sensitive skin types have been waiting for.

My Experience Using Becalm Airy Salicylic Acid Face Wash for Oily Skin
I have been using the Becalm Airy Salicylic Acid Face Wash for a few weeks, and I can confidently say it’s one of the few salicylic acid cleansers that I have used so far that manages to deeply cleanse without messing up my moisture levels.
So if you have oily, sensitive, combination, or even normal skin, this formula hits that sweet spot between effective exfoliation and calming care. The face wash has a transparent gel-like consistency and foams decently(an important criterion for many).
As to the side effects, there is no tightness after rinsing, and definitely no dryness. Despite containing salicylic acid, it’s quite gentle on my skin, probably due to the skin-barrier-friendly ingredients like glycerin, alpha-glucan oligosaccharide, anhydroxylitol, and xylitol.

It also has licorice, Centella asiatica (Gotukola) extract to help soothe irritation and keep the skin barrier happy, even during breakouts.
The star actives however, are 0.5% Salicylic Acid, Quaternium-73, and Zinc PCA, which help keep breakouts under control and tackle excess sebum. It’s also non-comedogenic and fungal acne safe, which is a huge win for sensitive, acne-prone skin.
