The Switch Fix Slay with Clay, Scalp Clarifying Shampoo Bar Review

Last Updated on April 2, 2024

I am back with yet another shampoo bar review for you guys. And this time it is The Switch Fix Slay with Clay, Scalp Clarifying Shampoo Bar.

The brand has been on my wishlist due to its no-plastic philosophy and vibrant packaging. There were 9 variants to choose from which made it difficult to choose one. But I eventually ordered the Slay With Clay variant from the Vanity Wagon website.

 Product Claims:

Slay pollutants that play with your scalp and lead it astray to create excessive sebum. give it a deep cleanse with french blue clay, bentonite clay and kaolin clay.

My Experience Using The Switch Fix Slay with Clay, Scalp Clarifying Shampoo Bar:

Starting with a benefit you al would up- foaming. Of all the shampoo bars I have tried so far, this foams the best. If you miss the rich foam from commercial shampoos, you will definitely be using this slay with Clay shampoo bar from The Switch Fix.

The shampoo bar has more surfactants than any other shampoo bar I have tried which explains the rich foam. There is definitely a foam booster in there somewhere.

Moving on to the critical factor that influences our purchase decision the most- the cleansing prowess. This shampoo bar does a great job at that. It removes dirt, excess sebum hair oil with ease and doesn’t leave the roots limp.

I used it on its own without a conditioner to check if it dries out my hair. While this shampoo didn’t condition my hair(Earth Rhythm coconut shampoo bar does a good job at that), it didn’t dry out my hair either.

I feel the shampoo will suit normal or slightly oily scalp best based on my experience. Following up with a lightweight conditioner will help you get bouncy hair.

I usually shampoo twice since I oil my hair regularly. But when I didn’t oil my hair, shampooing just once was enough to clean the scalp and remove excess dirt.

It does balance oiliness and I didn’t have to shampoo for 3-4 days. It also leaves less residue on the scalp compared to other shampoo bars I have tried so far.

Overall, this is a good shampoo for people who sweat a lot or oil their regularly as it cleanses the scalp very well.

I will definitely put this on my repurchase list.
