Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide Serum Review

Last Updated on April 2, 2024

Niacinamide serums are a huge rage these days. And no wonder since it is such a multi-tasking ingredient. So when Koko Chemistry asked me to review their 10% Niacinamide serum, I happily agreed.

After using it for around 2 months, here is my honest review of the serum.

Product Claims:

A multi-tasking super serum that has exceptional skin-restoring properties and the ability to treat problematic skin.

It effectively minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores, post-breakout marks, and hyperpigmentation all while targeting multiple signs of aging to dramatically improve the skin’s tone and texture.

This skin-friendly serum also has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe the skin, reduce redness and balance sebum production, making it a very effective treatment for mild to moderate acne.

My Experience Using Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide Serum:

Starting with the packaging which is one of the most thoughtful ones I have come across. It comes in an amber glass bottle with all the instructions mentioned on the label and carton.

Just looking at the packaging and website design you can tell how every detail has been planned carefully by the brand.

The serum is a milky lotion that is extremely lightweight and non-greasy. My skin absorbs it all up instantly and feels hydrated instantly.

Unlike other serums which are completely water-based, this Koko chemistry 10% niacinamide serum also has jojoba and olive oil. So along with hydrating the skin, it also helps lock it in and improves softness.

Since I have oily skin, I didn’t find any need to follow up with a moisturizer as it does that job well.

I took 2 pumps of the serum and applied it while my skin was still damp from the toner. I find this helps improve hydration and keeps skin plump.

The serum lasted me around 5-6 weeks after using it both in AM and PM routine. It helps soothe redness and lightens the dark spots left behind by acne making my face look more even-toned.

The best part about using this serum was its oil-control benefits. Niacinamide is known well for controlling sebum production.

Along with this, it also has witch hazel and humectants like hyaluronic acid and glycerin which together help avoid excessive oiliness.

As soon as I stopped using this, my skin went back to its oily self. So you have to continue using this in your routine to keep oiliness at bay.

While the enlarged pores are still visible, this Koko chemistry serum also helped in controlling whiteheads and pimples.

I usually get a few of them due to PMS but this time it has been under control and my skin has been bump-free.

This could be due to the presence of Zinc PCA which keeps the acne-causing bacteria in control. So if you have oily skin with mild acne, this serum is definitely worth adding to your skincare routine.

The only negative thing about this serum is that it is not budget-friendly. But the texture and performance of this serum are much better than other budget-friendly serums I have tried so far.

So if fits your budget, definitely get this one.
