Why The Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer did not work for me.
Last Updated on April 2, 2024
So over the years, I have read several blogs in hopes of finding a product that will keep my face matte and is affordable too. And almost every blog listed the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer SPF 15 as the best moisturizer so I decided to finally give it a try.
Ever since I started a skincare regimen for my oily skin, the biggest challenge has been finding the perfect moisturizer. Without a moisturizer, my skin becomes greasy and shiny within an hour of washing my face.
So I had high hopes from the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer. But sadly, it didn’t work well. Here’s why-

My Experience Using Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer:
When I bought this, I thought it would help keep my face non-greasy yet hydrate it efficiently. After all, Neutrogena products are much raved about for acne-prone skin.
But to my dismay, it made my skin super greasy. Even after 15-20 minutes of application, it felt sticky so I had to splash my face with water to take away some of the greasiness.
I thought I probably used excess product and so the second time, I used a tiny amount yet it felt sticky. Also when my hand slightly touched my eyes, it stung badly.
I continued using it for a week and had to make sure I washed my hands with soap immediately after using it or it would sting badly. Yet there was no change and my skin become super oily within an hour post-application.
I did not give up though and decided to use this during winters when my otherwise super-oily skin turns dry. This time around it did not make my skin oily but it did leave a shiny finish.
But still there was the problem of stinging my eye every time so I gave up and got ready to find another moisturizer to do the job.

Final thoughts On Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer:
If you read my previous article, the Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer has parabens and tons of other harmful chemicals hence I decided to discontinue it. I won’t recommend this product to anyone.
