Natural deodorant is a niche item—after all, the jury is still out on whether aluminium, the active ingredient in several “big brand” deodorants and antiperspirants, is harmful to your health.
And since they’re often more expensive than the “big brands” available in retail stores, it’s a tough challenge to explore this niche category. But a lot of people really prefer to use only natural products.
And while I don’t always shop for natural, I must admit there’s something about them that makes me feel, well ummm, clean. After experimenting with a few brands of natural deodorants, I grew to like them more than the traditional deodorants I had been used to all my life.
After trying a whole bunch of brands, I found my favourite: The Lineal Natural Deodorant. Here’s why I loved using it-
The Stick Format is User-Friendly.
Lineal Deodorant has a thick, solid consistency and it’s pretty easy to put on. Lineal’s stick format scores over natural cream-based deodorants that are messy to apply.
Note, though, that it does not remain as “solid” in extremely high temperatures like 50 degrees and above. But that change is temporary and the stick solidifies once the ambient temperature is back to normal.
The Fragrances are Uber Nice.
I typically get put off by the strong, overpowering scents of mainstream deodorants. But Lineal completely swept me away with its Bergamot and Musk scent.
It is light and didn’t interfere with my perfume. The fragrance lasts about 12 hours but the body odour control lasts all day. This is something about their product that is wonderful and sadly cannot be said about many mainstream deodorant brands.
It doesn’t stain clothes.
I’ve had white residue or streaks line on my clothing after using my previous deodorants. But Lineal has been an exception and stands out. My clothes are squeaky clean and there is no white cast after switching to Lineal.
It just works!
Due to the humid climate in Mumbai, it often gets sweaty, and over the past few years, I’ve cycled through several deodorants and antiperspirants that all failed a basic one-day test.
As for the ones that did pass a one day test- I’d always need to reapply during a particularly stressful or sweaty day. I wore the Lineal Natural Deodorant during Navratri to test out its strength, and it helped me stay odour-free even after 3 hours of dancing.
So workouts, stress sweats and more, this deodorant will handle everything you throw at it. Obviously, this is the most important feature for any deodorant.
Lineal deodorant has some amazing staying power. I love that the ingredients are everyday things like fractionated coconut oil, shea butter, arrowroot powder (excellent at absorbing moisture) and beeswax.
The Bottom Line
Lineal is a groundbreaking deodorant that is probably going to set the standard for other deodorants to follow. It didn’t stop me from sweating completely but it did a great job at body odour control.
4 Reasons Why I Recommend Buying Lineal Deodorant:
- Unisex Fragrances
The Lineal Natural deodorant can be used by both men and women. There are 2 fragrances available- Bergamot and Musk and Mint And Wood.
- Natural Ingredients
Great deodorant made with simple ingredients which are listed plainly on their website and packaging. Lineal’s natural ingredients like Shea Butter & Beeswax are a welcome change from “Propylene Glycol” or “Mineral Oil”, the ingredients usually found in commercial deodorants.

They offer free shipping and accept returns too, how cool is that!. I mean, I don’t recall any other indie or even drugstore brand doing so.
So there is no downside to trying Lineal Natural Deodorant. If you don’t like your first stick just send it back. These guys are so confident about their product they’ll even take it back!
