Color Chemistry Concealer Review+Swatches

Last Updated on April 2, 2024

Juicy Chemistry is one of my favourite beauty brands and I have tried almost half of their product range by now. So when they asked me to review the concealer from their brand-new makeup range, Color Chemistry, I said yes right away.

Like their skincare and haircare range, Color Chemistry is also certified by Ecocert France and made with clean ingredients. But that’s not all! This makeup range is designed with performance in mind and will give drugstore brands a run for their money.

In fact, one of the first things that caught my attention was the 3-year shelf life on the entire range. As someone who doesn’t wear makeup often, long shelf life is an important criterion for purchase.

The brand sent all 8 shades of their concealers and I have been testing them out to see how they work in covering up my hyperpigmentation and dark circles. So keep reading to see all the swatches and my review of all Color Chemistry Concealers.

My Experience Using Color Chemistry Concealer:

The concealer comes in 8 shades and most of them will suit wheatish to dark skin tones which is nice. The shades are not numbered from light to dark though.

So shade COO4 is lighter than shade COO3, shade COO2 is darker than both COO3 and COO4, and shade COO7 is darker than shade COO8.

I swatched them all on my hand and found shade C003 Bamboo is the closest match to my skin tone. It has a warm undertone and will suit people with medium wheatish skin.

These concealer crayons are super creamy and glide easily on the skin. You could blend it in with just your fingers but I recommend using a dense brush for a better finish. It’s best not to use a beauty blender as I found it to take longer to blend this concealer.

Once blended, the concealer has a beautiful natural-looking finish. Unless you look up close, you can’t really tell if I have a concealer on. If you find a perfect match to your skin tone among these 8 shades, you could wear it without a foundation as well.

I usually need an orange colour corrector for my dark circles to avoid an ashy look. But the shade Bamboo does a brilliant job of covering up the dark circles without looking ashy. And it didn’t make my under-eye look cakey either.

The Color Chemistry concealers only offer medium coverage but it is buildable if you need higher coverage. They won’t last all day so you will have to touch them up after about 5-6 hours especially if you touch your face a lot.

Overall, I am quite happy with these concealers. They are easy to work with and give a natural finish which makes them suitable for daily use as well.

So far I haven’t sharpened the crayons but there is no sharpener provided with it. I am planning to use a lip crayon sharpener but you will have to buy one if you have never used crayons.
