Ubtan India D Tan Scrub Review
Last Updated on June 12, 2022
Exfoliation is a part of a skincare routine that can often go wrong due to the product used. Because many exfoliators on the market contain gritty particles that can damage your skin.
So I was on the lookout for an affordable physical scrub that exfoliates gently. The Juicy chemistry scrub sadly didn’t turn out well for me and that’s when I came across the Ubtan India D Tan scrub and decided to give it a try.
After using it for over 2 months, here is a detailed review of the scrub.

Product Claims:
Handcrafted in small batches with the finest organic ingredients, this gentle scrub is 100% pure and chemical-free and helps in improving skin texture, removing the suntan & unwanted facial hairs.
Price: Rs.350 for 75 grams (now hiked to Rs.400)
Shelf life: 18 months

About the Product:
The scrub comes in a transparent plastic jar with a screw-on tin lid. There is an aluminum seal to prevent any tampering with the product. The scrub itself is finely powdered and pale yellow. There is a strong camphor smell to it.
Ingredients:
Orange Peel, Lemon Extract, Milk Extract, Rose, Brown Sugar, Raw Turmeric, Chickpea flour, Camphor (not mentioned on the label)

Directions to Use:
Mix with milk, water, or curd, to suit your skin. Scrub your skin in a gentle, circular motion. Keep for 10-15 minutes & wash off.
My experience with Ubtan India D Tan Scrub:
I ordered this to get help in removing some tan I had from traveling. The strong camphor smell hit me when I first broke open the seal and had me confused since no such ingredient was mentioned.
I was skeptical to use it and wrote to the brand explaining the issue. They replied immediately saying 0.04% camphor was indeed present in the product as a preservative.

I wish they had put this on the label along with other ingredients since people with any camphor sensitivity should be aware of this fact. Also, those with sensitive noses may not like the scent.
I love that the scrub is finely powdered and not at all gritty. I mix half a spoon of the scrub with rose water to make a paste and massage it for a minute.
Then I leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse it off with water. It scrubs away dead skin gently leaving the skin soft and clean.
I use it twice a week and it brightens my skin and reduces tan too to an extent. It also aids in keeping the pores from clogging when used regularly
It hasn’t done anything to remove facial hair and I don’t even expect a scrub do anything in that department. To conclude, Ubtan India D Tan Scrub is a nice gentle scrub for regular use that will suit oily skin well.
