If you are a regular reader of mine, you know my love for powder cleansers. So just before the lockdown, I picked up the Skincare Villa Green Tea Mint Cleanser.
Skincare Villa makes some of the best affordable powder cleansers in India. This particular Green Tea Mint variant has been on my wishlist for really long is made for oily/acne-prone skin type. So I finally got a chance to try it and it gave me company during the lockdown days.
The classic combination of Green Tea and Mint makes it unique. It helps reduce acne or breakouts while cleansing the skin gently. Suitable for all skin types except sensitive skin.

About the Product:
The Skincare Villa Green Tea Mint powder has a yellow/green colour. The texture is a bit gritty but it softens when mixed with water.
It has a refreshing mint fragrance with hints of green tea in it too. The cleanser is sold in glass and plastic bottles as well as an oxo-biodegradable pouch.
Oats, Almond, Organic Green Tea and Mint
Directions to Use:
Take a small amount of cleanser and add water to make a smooth paste. Gradually massage your face in circular motions and wash off with cold water.
Do not rub harshly. Can be used as a face pack with warm water.
My Experience with Skincare Villa Green Tea Mint Cleanser:
I use half spoonful of this cleanser and mix it with either plain or rose water to activate it. The cleanser has a slightly gritty texture when dry. So I use a bit more water and allow the runny paste to sit for a minute in my palms before using it.
The almond grains in the cleanser help in gently exfoliating the skin. Meanwhile, the creamy oats act as a cleanser and provide the perfect slip for almonds granules to scrub my skin without feeling too gritty.
Although, I wouldn’t recommend using it on active breakouts. If you wish to use it on active acne, prepare a face mask with warm water and let in sit on the skin for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off with water.
Green tea is known to be a highly beneficial ingredient for acne-prone skin as it has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties too. So I often let this cleanser sit on my skin for 5 minutes as a quick face mask before massaging it away.
The combination of oats and almonds does a beautiful job at cleansing dirt and excess oils along with moisturizing my skin. And at the same time, the Green Tea and mint help soothe and freshen up the skin.
I didn’t see much help in the acne department but I don’t expect any cleanser to do that for me. So I am pretty happy with the performance of Skincare Villa Green Tea Mint Cleanser. I think it will be a good fit for people with acne-prone or any other skin type.
