If you are my regular leader, you may already know that I am a huge fan of Skincare Villaโ€™s powder cleansers. I have used their Lavender and Oats Almond variant in the past and keep trying new ones at every chance I get.

So yet again when she launched a new Aloe Cleanser variant, I ordered it right away. Here is my detailed review after using the Skincare Villa Aloe Cleanser for almost a month.

Price: Rs.200 for 50 grams

Shelf life: 6 months

About the product:

The cleanser comes in a transparent plastic jar with a screw on lid. The powder is greenish white in colour and has a bitter neems smell.

Ingredients:

Oats, Organic Neem powder, Aloe Vera powder, Cucumber powder

Directions to use:

Take a small amount of cleanser and add water to make a smooth paste. Gradually massage your face in circular motions and wash off with cold water. Do not rub harshly. Can be used as a face pack with warm water.

My experience:

The Skincare Villa Aloe Cleanser is smoother in texture than the previous ones I have used. The neem acts as an antibacterial agent helpful for those struggling with acne.

The aloe vera powder hydrates the skin while cucumber soothes inflammation on the skin. It also has a strong neem smell at first which reduces after a week and makes it bearable.

I used the cleanser with plain water but you can use rose water too if the smell bothers you. I let the Aloe cleanser soak in the water for a minute until it turns mushy.

The cleanser spreads easily and there is not much fallout. However, wiping it off requires some extra time.

It cleanses well and leaves the skin soft and hydrated. I follow it up with a witch hazel toner and a light moisturizer.

The cleanser will be better suited for normal to dry skin due to the hydrating aloe vera powder in it. Since my oily skin turns a bit dry during winters, it worked well but it may not suit me during summers when it turns super oily.

Pros:

  • Made with all natural ingredients
  • Will suit normal to dry/acne-prone skin
  • No added fragrance or preservatives
  • Affordable
  • Cleanses well without drying out skin
  • Suitable for sensitive skin

Cons:

  • Needs a few extra seconds to wipe off thoroughly

Final thoughts:

Skincare Villa Aloe cleanser is a great hydrating cleanser. Once again, Sonali has turned a few simple ingredients into another great product.

It will work well for normal to dry skin people who struggle with breakouts. I will also work for oily skinned people during winters. Have you given powder cleansers a try yet? Let me know your favourites below.
