Its been so long since I wrote a product review on the blog. So I decided to review the Fabeya Orange Body Scrub and Polish I purchased a while back.
I originally purchased this body scrub for my sister but couldn’t resist trying it myself as usual. So here is a detailed review of it.
Price: Rs 349 for 340 ml
Shelf life: 36 months
About the Fabeya Orange Body Scrub and Polish:
The Fabeya Orange Body scrub and polish comes in a transparent plastic jar with a tin lid which is lined with plastic on the inner side. The product is sealed with a foil on opening to ensure no tampering takes place with the product during transit.
The scrub is orange in colour and has a sweet fragrance to it. The texture of the scrub is fluffy and slippery to the touch with brown granules in it.
Aqua, LLP, IPM, Caprylic Triglyceride, Glycerin, Stearic acid, Carbomer, Walnut shell, Orange Extract and Natural Fragrance.
Directions to Use:
Use a small dollop in a circulation fashion on face/body for gentle exfoliation. Can be used with fingertips on the skin. You can keep it as a leave on or rinse off with warm water in 5 min
Caution: A herbal formulation for external use only. Keep out of the reach of children. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
My Experience Using Fabeya Orange Body Scrub And Polish:
I was looking for an affordable natural body scrub hence decided to pick this up but after purchasing I found out that the LLP on the list stands for light liquid paraffin.
LLP is a cosmetic grade refined mineral oil used in skincare products. The label says that it is free of petrochemicals yet LLP sits right at top of the ingredient list, which I find misleading for customers.
Apart from this, there is no mention of colour or preservative used. Even the fragrance ingredient is not mentioned on the product so the ingredient list is not 100% transparent.
The website mentioned on the product too does not exist. (They do have an Instagram page though- @fabulous_fabeya)
Coming to the performance, the first thing I noticed and disliked is the slippery feel it leaves on the skin. This is probably due to the paraffin used in the base.
The slippery feel stays on even after rinsing out the scrub thoroughly. Due to this, I wouldn’t recommend using this on the face, especially if you ahve oily/acne-prone skin.
The walnut particles do help scrub off the dead skin cells up to an extent but is not sufficient. I feel there should be more granules in the product for the scrubbing action.
Overall, it is an okayish scrub which doesn’t perform as good ad other options in this price range. This has been sitting unused in my bathroom shelf for some time now since my sister disliked it as well.
- Affordable price
- Easily available online
- No harmful chemicals mentioned
- Incomplete ingredient list
- Leaves a slippery feel on the skin
- Misleading claims
Final Thoughts On Fabeya Orange Scrub:
There is nothing special about this Fabeya Orange Body Scrub and Polish. A simple DIY scrub will give you better results in my opinion. I am thoroughly disappointed by the product as well a the brand and hence, won’t recommend it to anyone.
