Earth Rhythm Matcha Moringa Cleansing Buff Review
Last Updated on April 2, 2024
I have grown to love Earth Rhythm products lately so bought their Matcha Moringa Cleansing Buff in May after seeing some good reviews on Instagram.
They have a total of nine variants and this one is aimed at calming and healing skin so I picked it up. After using it for more than a month, here are my thoughts on whether you should buy it or not.
Product Claims:
Matcha Green Tea contains chlorophyll, a powerful detoxifier, removes harmful toxins and fights free radicals that damage cells needed to protect our skin. It regulates sebum production and helps to fight acne.
Moringa has natural vitamin C that boosts collagen, helps to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. Finely Milled Organic Starch Powders absorb excess oil from the skin along with regulating sebum production to give the skin a smooth and silky feel.
Price: Rs.399 for 50 grams
Shelf life: 12 months
About the Product:
The cleansing buff is sold in a glass jar with an airtight lid. There is also an option to buy a set of coconut bowl, scoop and brush along with it for additional Rs. 200.
The product is offwhite finely milled powder. There is no strong fragrance
Ingredients:
Organic Solanum Tuberosum (Potato) Starch, Sodium Cocoyl Iseothionate, Xanthan Gum, Organic Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Organic Maranta Arundinacea (Arrowroot) Powder, Matcha Green Tea Extract & Moringa Oleifera Powder.
Directions to Use:
Take a spoon of the cleansing buff on your palm and add water, hydrosol, yoghurt or aloe gel etc. Begin to exfoliate and cleanse off your face and neck. Wash off with water.
To pamper your skin a little extra, simply add them to the coconut shell to make a thick paste and apply as a mask.
My Experience using Earth Rhythm Matcha Moringa Cleansing Buff:
The first time I used it, I was a bit disappointed as it didn’t foam. Now, I know a cleanser can clean well without foaming action too. But seeing SCI on top of the ingredient list led me to think this would be a foaming cleanser.
Anyway, I put that thought aside and decided to see how well it worked on my skin. Now, the unique factor of this Earth Rhythm Cleansing Buff is its super silky texture. Mix it with water and it turns into an extremely smooth paste that glides really well on the skin.
When massaged onto the skin, it is extremely gentle with no abrasiveness whatsoever. So I found it really helpful on the days my skin was breaking out and I couldn’t use regular powder cleanser.
The cleansing buff does the job of cleaning your skin well. The starch powders help absorb excess oil but leave my skin a tad bit dry too. Which is why I don’t enjoy using it as much as the traditional powder cleansers.
This does make it a decent oil-absorbing mask to reduce oiliness on your face. Also, I couldn’t really figure out how it exfoliates the skin as there is absolutely no abrasiveness nor any chemical exfoliating agents.
Coming down to the role of matcha and moringa, I won’t recommend relying on all collagen boosting and detoxifying claims. This is a cleansing product so keep that in mind.
Pros:
- Made with organic ingredients
- No added fragrance or preservatives
- Vegan friendly
- Cleanses skin well
- Helps absorb excess oil
- Extremely gentle on skin
Cons:
- Not as hydrating as other cleansers
- Didn’t exfoliate as claimed
Final Thoughts on Earth Rhythm Cleansing Buff:
Not one of my favourite powder cleansers so I don’t see myself buying it again. But yes, if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, this could be a good gentle cleanser that does not irritate your skin or active breakouts.

I was eying this product but guess it will be a bit drying for my combination-to-dry skin. Anyways, loved the review

Thanks, Trishna. Maybe another variant could work for your skin type. Check out the milk and oats ones.
